Prospective ResidentsCurrie Hall is owned and operated by The University of Western Australia, where some 250 University students of all ages, interests and cultural backgrounds live, study and socialise together. The Hall provides single room accommodation, and our facilities include a tennis court, a computer room, library, recreation rooms with pool tables and large screen projection TVs to name just a few.The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a very prestigious University within Australia and, indeed, the world. It is a member of the "Group of 8" which is a group of the top eight universities throughout Australia. UWA ranks very highly in terms of the quality of teaching, academic standards, research and student satisfaction. Graduates of UWA are highly regarded and employed throughout the world in a wide range of disciplines. Currie Hall is central to many of Perth's popular destinations, being less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Perth in one direction and our beautiful beaches in the other. We are on bus routes to downtown Perth, Cottesloe beach, Subiaco and Claremont's trendy boutiques, cafes and nightlife, and the Port City of Fremantle. The Hall is set in spacious and elegant grounds on the edge of King's Park, with the famous Swan River and all the delights of Matilda Bay only a stroll away. It is situated directly opposite the main entrance to UWA. A well-lit pedestrian underpass (under Mounts Bay Road and Stirling Highway) links the Hall to the main university campus. Currie Hall is owned and operated by the University and is non-denominational. In addition to a great lifestyle and strong academic and pastoral support, Currie Hall also enables and facilitates "networking for the future" through an active and vibrant social programme. The diversity of the residential population at Currie Hall ensures students make friends from across the globe! Our residents are encouraged to establish both professional links within their areas of expertise and personal friendships that they will take with them into their working lives in what is now a global marketplace. We provide our residents with a wonderful introduction to University life and all it has to offer.
